Before backup cameras and blind spot detectors were common features, many drivers didn’t realize just how much their cars could do to keep them safe. The MyCarDoesWhat.org campaign set out to change that — by making automotive safety features understandable, memorable, and surprisingly fun.
Building on an existing live-action series featuring Rick and his dog Scout, we reimagined the duo in a series of playful animated spots. This time, they faced an onslaught of unexpected hazards — from flying monkeys to zombies — with the help of modern car tech. The message was clear: in a world full of unpredictable moments, your car’s safety features are your best allies.
To tie it all together, we produced an original song, “It’s a Crazy World (So Many Crazy Things Can Happen)”, adding a catchy, light-hearted tone that made the educational content stick.
The result? A campaign that entertained while it informed — and helped drivers everywhere get a little more familiar with the safety tools already at their fingertips.
